Oskar’s largest work to date, Metropolis, is a vast illuminated futuristic city built from more than 40,000 reclaimed elements and approximately 2,700 individually programmed LED lights. Developed over more than four years, it incorporates hundreds of buildings, original characters, social commentary and a 35-minute soundscape. It exists simultaneously as a physical artwork, an imagined civilisation and the foundation of Metropoliverse, an evolving digital world through which Oskar is extending his practice into interactive storytelling, artificial intelligence and shared virtual experience.

His work has been shown at venues including The Gherkin, Canary Wharf, YouTube’s London headquarters, the Bargehouse at Oxo Tower Wharf and the Oxo Tower Gallery. His projects have been featured by BBC, Forbes, ITV4, Londonist and Sculpture magazine. His sculpture The Colony on Mars 2071 received the Chinese Future Life on Mars Award, recognising its vision of a possible human civilisation beyond Earth.

Working under the name Art of OK, Oskar creates densely constructed sculptures from thousands of discarded objects, including obsolete electronics, toys, plastics, metals and everyday materials that have lost their original purpose. His process is painstaking, intuitive and highly detailed: individual works often develop over several years, accumulating new layers, mechanisms and meanings as they grow. Rather than disguising the previous lives of his materials, he uses their familiarity to reveal the extraordinary quantity of objects modern society produces, purchases and abandons.

Works such as Recycled Future, Garbage Collector and Babel examine technological progress alongside its environmental and psychological consequences. They imagine artificial organisms, evolving cities and future civilisations assembled from the remains of the present. The sculptures are neither straightforward celebrations of technology nor warnings against it. Instead, they ask whether innovation can make humanity wiser, more connected and more responsible—or simply accelerate existing patterns of greed, waste and disconnection.

Alongside his own artistic practice, Oskar has worked across commercial and collaborative creative projects. He has designed tattoos, produced props for films, advertisements and photographic shoots, and freelanced with the legendary Storm Thorgerson and StormStudios. This included contributing to shoots connected with artists such as Pink Floyd and Europe, giving him experience within some of the most distinctive traditions of music-related visual production.

In 2020, Oskar created and independently produced Mars & Beyond, a large interdisciplinary exhibition and show at the Bargehouse that brought together more than 80 artists, performers and collaborators. As part of the project, he also collaborated with Greenpeace, hosting the organisation across two dedicated spaces within the exhibition. The event reflected his wider interest in creating platforms where art, science, environmental debate, performance and future thinking could meet.

The 4 week show was launched just before the covid pandemic swept the world. Despite that, thousands of visitors enjoyed the art and the stage.

Outside the studio, Oskar’s thinking is shaped by science fiction, global affairs, travel, meditation and martial arts. He has travelled through more than 40 countries, completed two extended Vipassana meditation retreats and practised martial arts for more almost three decades, including achieving black belts in Aikido and Kenjutsu. These experiences inform an artistic worldview centred on discipline, curiosity, cooperation, personal responsibility and the search for wider perspective.

At the heart of Oskar’s work is a human question: what kind of future are we collectively building? His imagined worlds are visually complex, but their concerns are immediate—loneliness, overconsumption, environmental damage, technological power and the need for meaningful connection. Through sculpture, exhibitions and emerging digital environments, he seeks to create work that encourages exploration, reflection and a more conscious relationship with one another and with the world we leave behind.
